Dr. Jose Chavez is a graduate of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia and completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at The Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore.  His postgraduate training include Postdoctoral Fellowships in Geriatric Medicine at UCLA and the George Washington University, and in Infectious Diseases at the Washington Hospital Center.

For the last 25 years Dr. Chavez has provided HIV services, both in areas of Treatment and Prevention in Washington DC, including caring for pregnant women with HIV.  He has also been very active in the treatment of Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and Sexually Transmitted Infections.  He has treated hundreds of patients with Hepatitis C and participated in clinical trials.

Dr. Chavez is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Chavez is fluent in Spanish and looks forward to provide care in Montgomery County.
