The Washington Health Institute (WHI) uses the Healow App as its Patient Portal. The Healow Patient Portal is secure, confidential, and a great way to communicate with your Provider and health care team for non-urgent clinical questions. And you can use it to book follow-up visits and preventative visits. If you cannot find an appointment on Healow that works for you, please contact a WHI Associate at 202-525-5175.

New and Established Patients may book appointments online using the Healow App or Patient Portal. WHI’s practice code for the App is: ADDGCD

The following are the ways you can make your appointment booking online:

DIRECTIONS FOR ESTABLISHED PATIENTS

Established Patients: Schedule an appointment via the Patient Portal link or download the Healow App.

  1. Visit our Patient Portal.
  2. You can download the Healow App for easy access to schedule an appointment or log in to your Portal to view your medical records.
  3. Follow the prompts in the Healow App or the Patient Portal and fill in ALL the required information and click submit.

DIRECTIONS FOR NEW PATIENTS

*Before scheduling, please verify that we are in-network with your insurance provider. If you have a HMO insurance plan, please list our office, Washington Health Institute, as your PCP (Primary Care Provider).

  1. Fill out the NEW PATIENT PRE-REGISTRATION by following the prompts and filling in ALL the required information and submit the information.
  2. Once the pre-registration form is completed, request an appointment time by clicking the ‘NEW PATIENT SCHEDULING’  button.
  3. Please complete our NEW PATIENT REGISTRATION QUESTIONNAIRE and email completed forms to: [email protected]
  4. Transfer your medical records to WHI by downloading and completing the Medical Release form. Send this form to your existing providers to provide WHI with your records. *
  5. If you complete the new patient paperwork after hours, one of our team members will call you during regular office hours to confirm your appointment.
  6. Call us at 202-525-5175 to schedule your appointment.

*Medical records are required prior to all infectious disease consultations. If we are unable to obtain your records prior to your appointment, you will be rescheduled. To provide you the best possible care, your providers should have your medical records at least 72-hours in advance of your appointment.

TIPS FOR USING HEALOW

  • Communicate directly with a provider – Receive answers to non-urgent medical questions from your desktop or mobile device anytime, anywhere.

  • Make appointments and submit forms – Schedule appointments, or view details of past and upcoming appointments. Expedite check-ins by completing and submitting online forms to the Washington Health Institute

  • Access test results and medical records – View test & lab results, and doctor’s comments within days of your appointment. Review personal medical records like clinical summaries, conditions, and medications, as well as personal health information from other health organizations participating in the Healow Patient Portal.

  • Request prescription renewals – Send renewal requests for any of your refillable medications.

  • Request referrals – Email your physician with your referral request and determine the best specialist for you based on your medical history and symptoms.

Troubleshooting tips

We can assist you! Visit Healow’s Help Center for helpful tips for logging in and using the Healow App. If you require additional assistance, please call us during normal business hours and a WHI Associate will be happy to help.

Simple Tips:

  • Be certain your name is typed as it appears in the medical record – James instead of Jim/Jennifer instead of Jen

  • Birthdates should be written as MM/DD/YYYY

  • Telephone number should not have any special characters – just the numbers, no dashes or dots

  • Be sure to check your junk mail for email confirmations! This email will come from eClinicalWorks

  • Our practice code for the App is: ADDGCD
