Primary Care

When it comes to comprehensive care and treatment, primary healthcare services are about more than just providing a diagnosis when you have a medical concern. At Washington Health Institute, our primary care services focus on optimizing your long-term health and wellbeing by getting to know you as a person, counseling you on healthy habits and disease prevention, and streamlining your care among other specialty providers when necessary. Our talented primary care physicians partner with you as your healthcare advocate, working with you to ensure you receive the appropriate screenings and have access to more complex care based on your condition(s).

What Is A Primary Care Provider?

A primary care provider or primary care physician is the doctor you can always refer to when you have any questions or concerns about your health, as well as a trusted physician to rely on in the case of sudden injury or illness. From helping you manage short-term or chronic conditions to putting you in contact with relevant specialists, your primary care provider is there to prevent, diagnose and treat a broad array of illnesses and injuries as well as help you navigate the many branches of the healthcare system so you can get the care you need.

Your primary care provider acts as your primary point of continuous care, as well as the first point of contact for any health concerns you may have that require further specialization or screenings. Our exceptional team will serve as an entry point into the healthcare system for you, providing you with comprehensive care and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to get you the specialized, personal care you need when such specialization is required.

Our team is uniquely trained and qualified in recognizing early symptoms of disease, conducting regular check-ups and physicals to help you stay in-the-know about your health, providing screenings and counseling regarding disease prevention and, of course, building and developing a lasting relationship with you as your healthcare advocate.

Why Choose A Primary Care Provider?

Your primary healthcare provider is meant to be your first point of contact in addressing your healthcare needs. Without this valuable ally in your care, the healthcare system can feel daunting to step into in pursuit of the proper care. Whether you’re seeking treatment for allergies or hoping to gather resources to prevent or manage a chronic condition, primary care providers take the mystery out of the healthcare system, providing you with a wide variety of healthcare services and making the entire process more accessible.

In a large study conducted in 2019, researchers discovered that people in the United States who had primary healthcare providers had a better overall experience with their healthcare. Not only that, but the study also found that those with a primary care physician received significantly more high-value care overall. Having a primary healthcare provider gives you a powerful ally in your general wellness and pursuit of lifelong health.
