As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker from Boston, Massachusetts, Kayena brings over 20 years of experience helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges with resilience and strength. She holds a B.A. in Psychology From the University of Massachusetts Lowell and a Master of Social Work from Wheelock College ( now known as the Wheelock College of Boston University), where she developed a solid foundation in evidence-based practices and a commitment to advocacy and social justice. Fluent in Haitian Creole and a working knowledge of French and Spanish, she specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Crisis Intervention, Family Therapy, Addiction,  and Suicide Prevention. Her expertise spans working with individuals facing depression, trauma, developmental disabilities, infectious diseases, and homelessness; tailoring care to meet each individuals unique circumstances.

Throughout her career, Kayena has worked in hospital, social service agencies, and crisis centers, providing on-site psychological assessments and interventions to de-escalate high-stress situations. She has also collaborated with multidisciplinary and inter-agency teams as a Capital City Fellowship. As a mayoral appointee, she shapes policies benefiting thousands of children with special needs, delivered Youth Mental Health First Aid training to educators, and established integrated support systems alongside community organizations. Her work reflects a deep commitment to systemic change and personalized care, ensuring that every client feels empowered on their journey to emotional well-being.

When not supporting others, she enjoys chasing waterfalls, cooking for loved ones with fresh food from her garden, and getting lost in a good book. Kayena believes in finding joy in life’s simple pleasures and strives to bring that same sense of balance and fulfillment to the clients she serves. Once connected,  clients look forward to connecting her as she assists them in walking toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.
