Camila Benitez, MD

Camila Benitez, MD is Medical Assistant/Scribe at the Washington Health Institute.

Andre Strickland

Camila is a medical doctor trained in Paraguay and ECFMG-certified, eligible to apply for an Internal Medicine residency in the upcoming Match cycle.

She graduated from Universidad Católica “Nuestra Señora de la Asunción” with a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery degree, where she completed rotations in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Infectious Diseases. These experiences strengthened her love for long-term patient care, teamwork, and evidence-based medicine.

Camila is deeply interested in preventive and holistic medicine, especially how lifestyle, nutrition, and emotional well-being influence chronic disease. She completed the course “Microbiome: the New Organ”, which sparked her curiosity about the gut-brain connection and the idea that health begins in the digestive system.

She has volunteered with Operation Smile, TECHO, and APOYO ESCOLAR, contributing to medical missions, community building, and educational support for children and families. Service and connection remain at the heart of her work.

Outside of medicine, Camila enjoys yoga sculpt, weight training, and healthy cooking, integrating movement and mindfulness into her daily routine. She believes that small, consistent habits create long-term health, and she loves inspiring others to feel their best.

She is bilingual in English and Spanish, allowing her to offer a warm, inclusive, and culturally sensitive experience to patients. Friendly, empathetic, and patient-centered, Camila believes that medicine is not only about treating disease — it is about helping people feel well, understood, and empowered.
