Genesis Mercado is a licensed medical doctor from Manila, Philippines, with over 10 years of experience in the medical field, specializing in internal medicine and community healthcare. He is also a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, an HIV Prevention Certified Provider, a Certified HIV PrEP Navigator, and a Kidney Health Coach through the American Kidney Fund.
After earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of the Philippines as an academic government scholar, Genesis attended medical school at San Beda College and completed his residency in internal medicine at Manila Doctors Hospital, where he served as the head of the External Committee of the Internal Medicine Department, managing partnerships with pharmaceutical stakeholders. Following his residency, he completed an observership in internal medicine in Chicago.
Returning to the Philippines, Genesis established his own medical clinic and pharmacy, providing primary care services to his community. Together with his wife, he organized multiple medical missions offering free consultations, electrocardiograms, laboratory tests, and medications. In 2023, he decided to join his family in the United States, where he gained further experience in cardiology and pain management before joining the Washington Health Institute.
In addition to clinical practice, he has been involved in medical research. His work has been presented internationally and published in peer-reviewed journals.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys creating content for his social media platforms and websites.
